We are the proud owners of a new Rancilio Silvia and now need to get an appropriate grinder for making exceptional espresso. In speaking with a representative at WholeLatteLove, she recommended the Rocky doserless model. I don't know the difference between with doser and doserless and their advantages or disadvantages, so am reaching out to those with experience. We will only be needing it for grinding up to 4 shots of espresso daily for lattes. Amazon.com has many more models than WholeLatteLove carries, so I don't feel limited to just their products.
Any recommendations, experiences, thoughts are greatlly appreciated.

Mazzer Mini E. I like have only used the doserless. It is a very nice grinder. Check out The HB Grinder Review for a great into to grinders in this category.

this is a pretty widely answered question on the forum.. if you do a google search with a few boolean operators and specify it to search site:coffeegeek.com/forums there is more than enough info on this thread.

Get a Super Jolly from Mazzer, or one of the re-badged equivalents.  This'll be the last grinder you'll need, and will make the transition when you get your next machine.  No one dies with a Sylvia, everyone gets upgradeitis eventually!  ; >
You may not ever replace the burrs, depending on your usage.
Remember, it's the grinder that makes the espresso great.  Sylvia just heats the water and pushes it through the puck...

Espresso: Rancilio Silvia
Grinder: Rancilio Rocky Doserless

It just depends on how much you want to spend and what you are going to use it for. If you want to spend around 300 bucks, then go with the Rocky Doserless or Rocky Doser. If you don't mind spending more, then go with a Mazzar Mini or Super Jolly. Currently, I have a Rocky Doserless/Silvia setup and I couldn't be happier. I am able to make very good espresso drinks...much better than most coffeeshops I've been to.

As far as choosing between the Rocky Doserless and Doser, that just depends on what you will be using it for. If you plan on using it just for espresso, then go with the Doser. If you want to use it for espresso, drip, and french press, then go with the Doserless. There are better grinders out there than the Rocky line, but don't let anyone tell you that it is just a beginner grinder. It is one solid piece of equipment...built like a tank!! If you don't believe me, then check out the reviews here on coffeegeek!

Hope this helps!
