LMAO! (If only she'd realize how much better her coffee will taste)

Wife tells me I have too much coffee gear. She was yelling at me last night, "I can't get into my cabinets, the counters are full of all your coffee crap, all the towels are stained, and the only smell in the house is of roasting coffee, and that's even when the dog is all farts!" As she was leaving the room she yelled back, "Either the Vibiemme and Kony go, or I GO!" I'm going to miss her.

guess I don't have it so bad.  I have my own little space for all of my coffee gear, including cabinets and drawers, and I even have dedicated towels (some of which she bought for me).  My wife has only three reasons to even go over there...get the agave syrup, get a bottle of sparkling wine from the undercounter wine cooler and to turn on the espresso machine so I can make her an evening latte.

You do realize that my post was humor- inspired by an old (very old) joke. It's been told re: a tractor or me, a fishing boat or me, and an untold number of variations.

While all marriages have their moments, we celebrated 42 years of marriage earlier this year, and we were a couple for three years before that. As I told her last week,, " I am not sure this marriage will last, but I am willing to give it another 40 years to be sure."

yes, i know the old joke, and the end was crystal clear humor, but I wasn't sure if your entire post was humor...or if she actually said something along those lines about all of your gear to you at some point.  Anyhow, I know I don't get too much grief from my wife, but I'm pretty sure she'd freak if I spent 2k on a grinder...we'll see when the time comes, because at some point, I am going to spend 1.5-2k on a grinder.

we've got 8 years of marriage behind us

So i was trying find a quote from Jon Rosenthal something about the mortgage paid, bills paid and hobby dollars being therefore beyond reproach. Come to think of it though it might have been the mother-in-law not the wife he was talking about.

We are 26 years but as along as we are on bad wife jokes mine tells me all the time "how would you like not to see me for two weeks????? Because mister that is how long it is going to take the swelling to go down".

Yes I put the BDB and CC1 in the same class, yes i have a reason for leaving SCG off my list, yes it is my opinion, yes it is subjective as opinions are by definition, no don't start a flame war because you disagree.

Congrats on the Speedster . . . and the remodel!

Were it I, of course, I'd have held out for the Mirage . . . that's really the only machine I "lust" after, and I'm sure that knowing it will never happen makes the desire all the stronger.  But nonetheless, I remain content with my T1.  ;^)

Our "new" house is still a couple of months' away from completion (I'm guessing January, regardless of the December promises), and -- of course -- my main concern is making sure the contractor knows how and where the T1 gets plumbed.

Congrats John!

The Speedster to me is an amazing looking machine, I really would need the machine on an island so all 360 of it can be viewed.
