Up until recently, I had never seen or heard of an hg one. No one I know has a pharos but everyone seems to think they are great. I sent an email to them looking for more info but got no reply sadly. The hg one is just basically 4 times more so it makes me question my purchase a little. With no doubt the hg one produces an incredible grind at least for my palate. With no experience and just pictures and stories of the pharos I am unsure. I just love how the hg one is basically rocking out robur Burrs for a much smaller pricer than an electric version with a real ergonomic set up. Makes life easy that's for sure.

I have used (one afternoon) both and liked the HG1 better.  And you can put a scale under the HG1 and stop grinding when you get enough out.  Something you really can't do with the pharos.  And it was a heavily modded pharos.

I matched a K10 shot for shot with unmodded PHAROS - good technique required...

I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

My liking the HG1 was ease of usage.  I did not do a really taste test shoot out between them.

Buying advice: GRINDER GRINDER GRINDER. Don't cheap out on the grinder.
