The cost of a pitcher is minimal when choosing between two sizes. I use a 32 oz pitcher with 16 oz milk. That may come as a shock to some and others yawn YMMV but I add enough espresso to just make a very large cap, something I can drink for an hour or more on my drive to work. I say, buy equipment for what you intend to do and adjust from there YMMV!
I love your big caps! I make my road trip espresso from your recipe book nowadays. My daily commute is 10 min to drop of the kids at school and 14 more to get home to my machine, no need for roadies after already having two tripples at home (my kids have me up 2 hours before we have to be at school).
The first pitcher I bought was a 20oz and was to big for my needs most of the time. I figured doing less then 10oz would be no problem, I was wrong, I now have a 10 oz, a 16oz, a 20oz, 32oz, as well as various shapes of the 10 and 16oz. I have my favorites but since I got a new machine I broke them all out again since what worked excellent on one machine woks slightly different on another although I think my favorites are still safe.
