hi all,
i stumbled across the following vendor, in my search for a few different espresso-related products, and i was wondering if anyone had ever ordered something from them w/good results:
the prices seem to be considerably below the usual suspects. so much so, that i did a search to see if this was a scam operation to beware of. but the scam search came up negative. and it made me wonder if the vario preciso grinder that i bought new on ebay for $230 shipped came from a re-seller who was buying in bulk from a place like bagus herianto and reselling...
i realize that there would be no after-the-sale service you get from the usual suspect vendors, but besides that, does anyone have any feedback/comments/etc.?

These guys come along every now and then but a very old saying goes, A fool and his money are soon parted. Like Helen said above, if it sounds too good to be true............ You can fill in the rest.

i am thinking a *lot* more than twice. ;~) it's yust that, when something is a scam, there's plenty of info about it when you do a web search. in the case of this vendor, there is no info whatsoever regarding scam or fraud. and, i am still curious about ebay vendors who are selling new baratza vario's for $325 and baratza preciso's for $230 - where are they getting their inventory?
bagus harianto, like the 1stcoffeeshop.com link you cited, also accepts direct bank deposit only. which is not apparent until you actually go to "check out" your order - which i just now did, to see what would happen. if i can't order via paypal or via my credit card, it ain't happening.

as a follow-up, i immediately received an email from bagus (bogus?) harianto, which thanked me for my "order" and again provided the bank info necessary for me to transfer funds. this was my reply:
"sorry, i don't do direct bank transfer payments. when you accept paypal or a credit card, let me know. meanwhile you can cancel this order. unless, of course, you want to ship me the unit first? when i receive it, i will be happy to do the bank transfer payment. ;~) "
as i am the "op", no i think the others got it right. when i "ordered" a quick mill qm67, the delivered price - for one unit - was $830. if you want to buy a baratza grinder, you have to "order" five off them. but, you could easily make ~$100 each, on reselling, as you would still be selling at way less than typical retail. if it were a legitimate transaction.
if you think that bagus herianto is legit, go ahead - order your la pavoni pro - it will only cost you "only" $488, delivered - and you only have to order one.
