Has anyone else here had the privilege of trying some of the best coffee on the planet?
I tell you, some of the best coffee ever comes from Cafe Britt of Costa Rica, and Aroma Nica of Nicaragua.
I have lived in Central America for about 10 years and I can safely say that it is the best coffee I have had bar none. I would even go as far to say as it's the best tasting coffee on the planet.
I enjoy buying the fresh beans direct from the farm and then grinding and making that first batch. It certainly is good....
Yes he was: "Has anyone here tried that Nestle Nesspresso Machine that has been endorsed by George Clooney? ... Anyone have any insight into this? I was thinking of picking one up as a Christmas gift to myself... Or maybe someone else ;) "
And actually, the best drip cup I ever had from a South or Central American bean was a Bolivian, with a Colombian running a close second....
You ask a question, we give some answers, you don't like the answers, so WE are now judgmental. Two easy solutions: 1 - Read our opinions and discard them or choose the ones that appeal to you and use them as you see fit. 2 - Stop asking questions.
yes, of course you can be lazy. you can drink whatever you'd like...it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to me. if you feel Nespresso is "passable" then that's your opinion. Me, I'll drink it in a pinch, but would never go out of my way to have it, or even consider getting my own for convenience.
However, you must consider that for people who are really, really, really into the best quality espresso they can get in their cups, having someone come here and say they've been drinking what they feel is "the best coffee on the planet", and at the same time looking to purchase something that many here would consider mediocre at best is rather contradictory. It also makes one wonder about your taste in general...in particular, your judgement that the other stuff is really good at all, let alone "the best coffee on the planet".
Of course, I wasn't going to say all that because I didn't want to seem judgmental...well, so much for restraint

Just to add a little credibility to the op... I have been home roasting for about 10 years (and am pretty good. I also roast ocassionally on the big roaster in my local roaster's place. My roasts are comparable to any of the high end roasts I have had anywhere). I have been to Cafe Brit in Costa Rica (and a lot of other coffee places as well including Boquette Panama, home of the famed Geisha coffees). I will not back his claim to best ever at Cafe Brit, but it was not bad by long shot.
Hey Blackie, I'm with you on this one. The responses to your comment were a bit 'snarky', and for really no reason. You made an excited comment about a coffee you tried without denigrating anybody else or their opinions. No problem there as far as I can see. I, like you, get enthusiastic about a coffee when I try something I like and your exuberance is admirable. Ok guys, let's all welcome him back into 'the fold'. I actually tried a Keurig at a friend's house last week and actually loved it! Let the flames begin........
