Just saying that you can't have fresh roasted coffee all the time, and something needs to pass...
I too have *GASP* fallen to the depths of the forbidden zone... During the holidays if fresh coffee runs low, I'll even throw in *GASP* Instant coffee.... (And it's even called "PRESTO")
NOW we can let the flames begin....
Just because we go slumming once in a while, mean there's anything wrong with taste ;)

Eventually you will get a feel for this place and its regulars if you stick around a while.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

This certainly invites the questioning of your credibility in judging the finest coffees of the world.
Really! How can you drink that stuff? It is polite to just say 'No thank you, I'll just have water, or a bowl of steam please.'
Seriously though, there are many fine coffees from Central America. Some of my favorites have been the Bourbon Varietal from Guatemala and El Salvador. For freshness, the green bean does well to age a few months, but the roast must be fresh.

And sometimes, it's impolite to refuse a cup of coffee, different cultures after all :)
If you like the green bean you should check out Selva Negra's fully self sufficient farm... Really interesting operation and 100% self sufficient. They have an awesome tour of their cafetal and they teach you a lot on the roasting process.
