I got an older Bunn A10 for... free! Makes the B-10 look like a toy (got that for free at the same time). I took both apart for cleaning and ended up throwing the B-10 in the trash. Those have the filler top glued to the tank and can be difficult to seal back up (one data point was a wet workbench). The A10 has a large stainless tank and is built to last. I removed the original thermocouple bulb thermostat and installed one that is adjustable from the outside!

Well here's my latest Craigslist find - a Nuova Oscar for only $180! Asking price was $200 but the seller said that they could never get the espresso hot - it was only warm. I offered $180 and they took it and I was expecting the Oscar to need a new pressurestat but I just made an espresso and it was very hot (hotter than my Sirena or Barista machine ever got) and the steam on this machine is incredible. I cannot believe my luck...I have wanted one of these machines for such a long time now. This is an older one from 2005 and it does not have a Sirai P-Stat but, other than that, this machine is in excellent condition! Took a pic of it along with my Obel Bregant grinder (64mm burrs) that I got from a local auction for $30. My setup isn't bad for $210 :)

Thanks Josh! I had to drive over 2 hours to get it but it is so worth it and I was wrong...I don't have a Sirai but rather a Parker pressurestat (pic attached). I never heard of a Parker but I assume it's just as good as a Sirai but I dunno. It looks similar to a Sirai.
Now if I could just figure out what is the best way to descale an Oscar without having to take anything apart that would be awesome but other than that I am really enjoying this beast and it's so great to be able to steam and brew at the same time. I could never go back to using a SBDU machine ever again....they are such a pain. Oh and I can steam 4oz. of milk in 10 seconds now....incredible.

My used buys since my last post.
Macap M4 grinder for $200 (decent deal I think).
Wega Airy for $200 - wanted to play around with an HX machine. Was pretty old and missing parts (drip tray and grille especially - anyone know where to find one)? Cleaned up pretty good.
La Pavoni Neopolitana for $50 (only thing wrong with it was it's safety tstat was tripped). Gonna flip this one.
Nuova Simonelli Appia 1 Group for $400. The guy posted it for $500 and said rightout that he was quoted a $400 repair for it and he wasn't selling too many drinks from it in his restaurant anyway so he decided to get rid of it cheap. I figured it was probably a $50 part and $350 labour. Turns out it just needed a good descaling. Downside was it has the AutoSteam wand but I've already retrofitted a rancilio wand onto it from another parts machine I have and it's working great, just has a slightly wrong angle but it will work until I order the actual NS wand. I think this one's going to become our main machine. Made some of the best espresso and foam I've ever made this morning after getting that new steam wand on.

I purchased my brand new Starbucks Barista Athena from a craigslist ad about two years ago. The seller received it from a friend who owned a coffee shop. It was a returned model from a client who had purchased it from the shop. It was returned because of leaking. I purchased it for $25.00. Once I got it home, I took it apart and discovered that the gasket at the bottom of the boiler was mis-seated. Placed the gasket in properly, and it's been serving me well since then.
