I'm currently roasting a batch of Costa Rican beans on my Behmor while I type this on my iPad. In the background I'm running one of the best apps I ever bought (both coffee and non coffee related), it's called "Roastmaster". And while many of you roasters already know about it, I just wanted to say how pleased I am with it. It's especially well suited for the Behmor with its preset roast curves.....whoops....I just heard 1st crack...got switch apps.

I almost started a similar thread. I have been working with Tom (the author of RoastLogger) and Jim Gallt. Jim is working on an Arduino close and shield for the Hottop. I have been testing the prototype along with RoastLogger. I have been impressed enough that I have spent the last two or three weeks writing two user's manuals- one for the electronics Jim will be selling and one for RoastLogger. The RL manual will be done at the end of this week. How impressed am I with RL? I wrote the manuals gratis.
Creating the manual has given me the opportunity to delve deeply into RL and talk to Tom about it. The current (beta?) version actually has an improvement or two that I suggested. All the more amazing is that the app is free and is purposely designed to run on multiple platforms without any more of an installation than unpacking the download.
So beyond all that, my motivation in writing the manual was that I found that information seemed to be in three places when I needed help, and I ended up having to ask some stupid questions and I thought I should have known that... So, like the TV show, "Murder, she word processed," Off to work I went.
