And that is a good one for coffee roasting?

Also, the woman always has veto power if it goes in her kitchen, ring or no ring. (If the man is the cook, or he is setting it up elsewhere then it is another ball of wax.)  IMHO: The man who doesn't respect that without a ring will not respect it with one.

I appreciate the support!  And yes, it was more of a metaphorical couch.  Besides, if there was a ring wouldn't there be a vow to "love and obey" that would make this all so much simpler ;)

To be fair, it's a small condo and the only place it could be set up would make it the first thing people see when they walk in the door.  You all may appreciate it, but on average I thing a "What the h*** is that?!?" would be more common...

Anyways, she "let" me buy a used Oscar, so I'd say it worked out alright. :)
(pouring her a cap with a heart on top from my customized BAR32 earned a few points for me).

I think you are missing his point - sleeping when you are still new or getting to know each other (boyfriend/girlfriend) might involve more than closing the eyes and counting sheep.  She has a huge say in how that night rolls.

Don't get me wrong, I like coffee - a lot - but I think he made the right choice...

I think the used Oscar is a good thing.  I really like mine. I am headed out to the thrift store again today. I never even thought of looking for the vacuum pots till this thread.   I was just looking for cups.

These West Bend Poppery I's have a bit of cult following in the home roasting arena since they can be modified easily and have robust internals.  On eBay they sell for more than I would ever pay.

My favorite find so far has been my Obel Bregant (La Pavoni Zip) grinder that I got for $30 from a local auction: Click Here (www.fasttrackauction.net)

It's working great so far.

That site has many restaurant/cafe auctions and they have auctions not just in Ohio but in many other cities.  It's worth checking out: http://www.fasttrackauction.com/

My Gaggia Classic - 25 on UK eBay.  Needed a bit of a clean up, but it was all there and working.

Both my popper roasters - $4 and $6 at Goodwill, plus $14 for a 1500W dimmer on eBay to control the heater.

Wasn't planning on getting into home roasting for another year or two.  From this thread, thought I'd go to thrift store to see what I could find.  Found this bad boy for $8 and now I guess I'll need to find some greens.

Anyone have a link to mod poppery I?
