For single dosing, it's more difficult to make it evenly. So, the pre-infusion can help in a limited range. That is to say, it can help if the distribution is not too much uneven. If it is, the pre-infusion wont help. While for double dosing, it's not quite possible to happened for uneven distribution, so the pre-infusion normally is not necessary.
