Yeah, the tiny pictures don't help. They look like they might have some grippy brown rubber on them, or perhaps are only partially glazed or something.
The previous owner of the Duetto apparently had like never cleaned it, and spilled water inside so I have some rust abatement to take care of, but otherwise it's functionally fine.
Far from a great setup, but what started as me worrying about an unhappy purchase is starting to turn into a love interest now that, after 4 days and a full bag of coffee I'm beginning to pull reasonable shots. Still can't get a nice tiger effect no matter how hard I try, as well as no idea where to go next, but at least I'm pulling 2oz in 25 seconds!
Anyway, it's a Bezzera Medea E61 mixed with the obvious Vario. Still need to buy a better scale, as well as replace the terrible tamper it goes with, but a happy little caffeine setup none-the-less!
