I'm in the market for a knock box to go with my Silvia's PF.  Any suggestions?  Is the one from Sweet Maria's the best out there?

I like my Grindenstein, it's small, stylish, and functional.

I also use a Red Grindenstein. I actually have a Quickmill steel knock box worth around $200 mounted under the counter, but a few weeks ago a friend bought me a Grindenstein as a present because I am too mean (or poor) to buy one myself ;-). I have not used my under counter knockbox since and much prefer the Grindenstein...it's cheap but good.

P.S. I think red is definitely the best colour!

I used to use a grindenstein, and I still have it. I now use the stainless steel composter keeper: Click Here (www.amazon.com)

I keep it under the sink until I need to put in on the counter for use.

I modified it with an oak "knocker" : Click Here (picasaweb.google.com)

I've since added a neoprene base, shrinkwrap to the bail posts, and a strip of neoprene tubing  to the bail for a little noise abatement. For my purposes it works great. I usually fill it in a couple of days and then go dump it in the garden.

I use this one.  If you make a lot of espresso or don't want to empty it every day, this is pretty good.  Very sturdy.  I cut a hole (it's pretty big) in the counter for my espresso set-up and it works well.

I made my own. We had a bunch of new Rubbermaid bowls with the snap on lids, so I took one of them (maybe 1qt. size) and drilled a hole in the lip on each side and cut the handle off a wooden spoon to fit tight and that's it. Might have cost me $1.50 and works great. Can hold maybe 7-8 pucks and the wooden spoon handle is gentle on the basket. Later!

I use a Bumper knock box from Chris' Coffee Service. Good size, well built, and with a bit of style.

Grindenstein, blue. It works well, looks great and the price was right.

I just ordered the Grindenstein to use instead of garbage pail, and will dump contents into my compost.
