Just a sign of the economy.  People are not eating out as much anymore due to energy costs.  Many restaurants are going under due to such; I would put Starbucks in the league of such.

En, en, en, there is a secret for the Italian cafes.  I thought, Mr. Schults may see it, even if he never talk about it, but maybe not.

Hi, Peter!

Yah, *$s (I never tire or writing their name that way!) havew about as much in common with Italian cafe as they do with NASA. Actually, they probably have more in common with NASA than Italian coffe (esprssso).

Hi, Len!

Nice to talk to you again.  You are still travelling around the world.

I do not know what you mean by NASA, is it American Space Administration? But, how it is related to cafes?

Economically, one can calculate how much people would pay for coffee drinks, but the quality of espresso make a big difference.  If the espresso is not drinkable, people can only drink others, which cost more.  In this case, would people like to drink everyday, or a few cups a day?  Finally, it is totally depends on how many people would buy coffee drinks in cafes, or they prefer to make drip coffee at home and offices?

How much does espresso cost in US?  One buck, or more?  And, how is cappuccino and caffe latte?

Any news from Europe?

Peter

OK, I simply cannot read it.  That is not Chinese, anyway.

Is it north America and south America?

just blame the internet and the notoriously tricky process of conveying jokes through said series of tubes

He's saying what Starbucks makes in their cafes is so far removed from what an Italian would call espresso that it's not even justified to talk of the two as items in the same category.

It's like saying about, say, 2 brothers that are very different from each other:  'those two are like night and deontology'  .. the statement in itself is nonsensical, but then again, saying that they're 'like night and day' doesn't convey much difference at all since the two are nearly identical in light of the almost infinite variety of phenomena and terms that could be compared.

If you're not sure what I mean, think about this statement: "those brothers are like the two major phases of the 24-hour cycle that constitutes a 365.25th of a year on planet Earth"

Do you mean they look similar but, in fact, they are two completely different?  Am I right?

Will the energy drink be like adding coke to coffee?  Wait...that's been done before.

I drink espresso so I can work longer,
so I can make more money,
so I can drink more espresso,
so I can work longer,
so I can make more money,
so I can drink more espresso...
