So I'm finally taking the plunge and getting myself some proper espresso stuff. I have a Saeco Aroma on the way, but I'm in need of everything else -- especially a decent grinder, and maybe things like a nice tamper, etc.
In particular, are there any local places that have a good selection of grinders (Nemox Lux, Rocky, Nuovo Simonelli)?
Can anyone recommend a regular retail outlet that carries this stuff?
I've seen a Faema store at Vaughan Mills but never been inside. How competitive are the prices at Green Beanery?

For $263.50 the Green Beanery has a doserless Rocky that's dented outside but has full warranty. If I had the cash I would go for it. I ran the Rocky at a different Toronto store the other day, and the Rocky is so quiet! The Faema outlet sells the Infinity but I wouldn't want to use my Infinity for espresso for many reasons, so I would look at their upper end grinders instead. There's lots more choices to look at in the tdot, but I don't have the time to list... But you can phone any place from here and compare. Any blue point. You have specificially chosen Gaggia and Nemox in your heading, so let's ramble on with that: On that map is the Gaggia House, which is a direct supplier of ... Gaggia, but creativecookware.com, a Quebec supplier has better pricing. It depends on if you'd rather pay extra to actually go there or not. I know that I have had great internet-based communication with Creative Cookware. I bought my Infinity for presspot knowing that I would be paying $100 more, just because I could hold it in my hand. I was glad because when the burrs were rusted out of the box, I could go there and show them, and watch them open their boxes to see that many others had similar issues, and had more "clout" regarding an exchange vs. something argued remotely over the net. As for Nemox, I don't know of any. I bought mine from CG mmber fifthgen, with a great deal of internet communication, a phone call or two, and also had somebody drive to Boston to pick up the goods in person (by convienient luck). I would certainly recommend dealing with fifthgen for Nemox product, but it doesn't meet your local criteria.

I just wanted to follow up on this after spending a few days exploring a few retailers in the GTA for grinders and other accessories.
I ended up finding the Gaggia MDF at the Saeco store (Steeles W. & Weston Rd., Toronto), and a nameless grinder that looked a lot like the Nemox Lux at the Faema Cafe in the Vaughan Mills complex. In the end though, I visited the folks at the Green Beanery and picked up a Baratza Virtuoso for pretty cheap. I know it isn't in the same league as the Rocky, but despite some of the earlier reviews, it seems these newer Virtuosos are perfectly capable of a even, machine-choking grind without having to mod it.
