What's goin' on?

We've had Mc Cafe for years here in Melbourne, Australia.  I'm embarrassed to think that we may have introduced the concept to the rest of the world.
Somebody pleeeeeeeeease tell me it was conceived elsewhere.

You wish is granted.

Several Vancouver, BC McDonalds were part of a pilot project back in the early 1990s, when they put Acorto super automatic machines litterally next to the burger pickup area in the front of the shops.

I saw this in effect at the McDonalds on West Broadway at Arbutus, back in 1994 or earlier. It was a big 3 bean bin Acorto that not only automatically made the drinks, but also frothed and steamed the milk.

As far as I know, this machine is still in that McDicks. I haven't been to that one in about four years though.

That's an oops & sorry to hear that Vancouver was the 1st that had to cope wit that.  I will not hold this against Vancouver.  Really nice city (in spite of the McCafe-thing).  And, the dining is excellent.

I don't know what you're all going on about - this has to be a hoax, right?  right?  uh...  oh... my...

As the market for espresso drinks expands, the bar gets lower.  I think it just hit the floor.

hehehe

Seriously, they did a great job putting the "M" on that cappuccino, and the fact is that there was a McCafe in Chicago 2 years ago.  The layout was pretty nice, and it had a classy Frenchy feel to it.  The pastries looked  tasty.  I got my first and my last McLatte there, and never went back.
