Well, I've been dead for awhile. I don't do a lot of naked extractions anymore, I like my new La Marzocco portafilter with the adjustable spout (which isn't especially useful, but cost twice as much and looks cool--reason enough for anyone, right?) too much to actually, you know, mess with the naked portafilter much, so I use the naked PF more for "naked backflushing" than naked extractions... (I have 2 pfs always out, one with a backflush disk, one with a filter basket...)

that was my triphonic fun for the evening... this shot came out a little too fast.... about 3 oz. in 25 seconds. Still, this stuff is from a local place in Norman, OK, and it's ridiculously smooth. you wouldn't believe it, dang. It's not a great blend, in my opinion, I have had much better, but this stuff is smoother than anything else I've tried--very forgiving, but not very rewarding. ah well...

here's a little latté art... kinda reminds me of some of JonR's not-so-great pours ;)
I can't get these things straight, I guess I am too lazy to pour right in the middle, so mine usually curve along the side of the cup some. I kinda like that, though.

And here's the end. Maybe I went a little too far, but it's worth a little blonding to get that last picture. Anyway, this shot was very nice in the cup but I'm ready to start with the new batch of Ambrosia I just got in Friday.
Remember that Caffe Fresco is donating all profits from September to Hurricane Relief, so please consider either making a donation of buying some coffee there (or both).
EDIT - It looks like Tony has changed this and now is donating his gross proceeds to the effort. Tony - that's more than generous - if it was just the profit that would be more than anyone could ever ask or expect... Please make sure that the business stays healthy - OK? I want to be able to order from you in the future as well.

That guy is the coolest EVER! i ordered some of his stuff on thursday, but I waited too long and ran out of coffee, so I had to get some locally...
Suggestion: All of you espressographers should order a few lbs of ambrosia or daterra's reserve this month... and then order some more next month, so Tony can eat, too ;)

I saw that and will be ordering from Tony soon; I've had Ambrosia and Daterra's Reserve but want to try his Red Star blend. I'll post some pics when I get some in.

Can I take a turn?
Before shooting espresso pics, here's my new (temporary) setup. Tonight I have actually completed the kitchen coffee bar, but the pics have to wait until tomorow...
