I've tried Redbird taste great but the chocolate flavor was to strong or rich like a hot chocolate and not enough caffeine lift for me.
  1. Can anyone recommend an espresso that has a sweet flavor not to overpowering and lots of caffeine lift?
  2. How does Redline espresso compare to Redbird?

Respectfully

I just finished my Redline today, excellent. Redbird is a darker roast, the lighter the more caffeine. Redline is lighter, like an American Roast I think (medium light brown?). I was surprised at how good it was in milk. Even my wife numerous times kept asking if I added anything else as it tasted so chocolately, I would say it was more like a sweet chocolate and not the darker roast chocolate Redbird has.

just had a thread about it: http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/blends/653226

edit - just saw your post there. Like I said above, Redbird is a darker roast and will have that darker chocolate undtone flavor. Redline is lighter medium roast so it has a sweeter guess more mellow chocolate flavor.
