First time buyer.

5 lbs on the way...

Posted August 22, 2013 link

Arrived Saturday.  Very quick.  Alas I was expecting chocolates :(

Stored extra in several tupperware type containers in freezer.

Crema is a sight to behold.  I can't really say much about taste.  Definitely not bad at all, but nothing jumps out at me.  I think I am always in a rush doing something else instead of savoring...

Did I mention the crema?

So far I am very satisfied.

I've been drinking red bird now for almost a year and I've tried others of his but always return to red bird. I always get a ton of crema and love the taste, as for the chocolates well this time of year they would probably melt, especially here in the south. It takes three days to reach me after I place the order. When I grind it I can smell the chocolate coming up from the doser on my grinder  :)

You might try Redline from Metropolis. It's about the same roast but I kind of like the taste in milk drinks. There is a million micro roasters out there... just keep trying them until you find one you like. I just ordered 4 lbs of Redline this morning.

5 lbs. shipped Friday afternoon from MT, arrived 9am Monday in NH.

That's fast.

Just pulled first couple shots.  I asked Jeff to roast it a bit longer and I think that did the trick.  Its a bit bolder but not over the top. Crema still perfect...

Requires willpower to save the chocolates for the kids...

Not to whine, but....

My last two 5 lbs. bags, no chocolates and that ridiculous "resealable" tape bag.  What does it take to bring back the zip top bag?  Let's hope "Blue Jaguar" isn't Jeff's latest car, but based on the cheapness of shipping materials, I'm afraid I'm on to something....  Love the beans - I'm not hatin', just observin'....

If you say so.

If Jeff could knock a couple bucks off and use slower shipping, I'd buy Redbird wrapped in newspaper with a note saying "FU no more free candy".  It's about the beans man.

Actually i had noticed the tape, no email from Jeff, seemed to take an extra day this time, treats were in the box and NONE of it matters to me.

My box arrived with Jeff's initials and date in the corner of the label and the product I expected in the bag, sold!

John

Bags arrived as ordered, bags the same as always*, and the timing is spot on!

* I get everything in one-pound bags, so I can't speak to any changes in the 5-lb. ones.
