Most generally roast separately and that's what's held me off from roasting my own, I don't feel like roasting 3 different parameters one after another on something like the Behemor (just saying 3 as espresso blends I buy are always 3 beans or more). Otherwise if you mix the greens and roast as is you'll have beans that aren't reaching their right roast.

As you're experimenting with blending, you need to roast separately. If you roast three different varieties (or even the same variety three different ways) you can get multiple blends and easily adjust the blend from cup to cup. Also, you get to know what the single-origins taste like.
If you roast them altogether you're obviously stuck with a whole batch - not necessarily a bad thing but you won't learn about blends as quickly as the above method.
I do my blending in the bean hopper just prior to grinding.
