I have been drinking the "Daily Espresso" from Social Coffee and Tea Company. Recently I have been able to dial the shot in as suggested on the website.
I am currently using the following formula:
20 grams ground coffee, at approximately 93 degrees celcius pulled for 25-30 seconds giving me 30-33 grams.
Since I have dialed in the shot as suggested, new flavors have popped up and I am hooked! really a much better tasting espresso.
My question is, am I drinking a ristretto shot? 20 grams is a double give or take, and only yielding 1.5-1.75oz seems to be a ristretto from this forum. Will most blends react this way? More flavors if pulled as a "ristretto"?
Either way, I love the way it tastes now and will continue to brew this way if I can keep it up. Was hard to dial it in, grind had to go quite a bit finer, and I had to up the brew pressure to approx 10 bar. Sometimes it hits 10.5.
I can highly reccomend the Daily espresso from Social when pulled as suggested. Has anyone tried the Detour Coffee brewed like a "ristretto"? I am open to trying other local coffee roasts if they are similar. (from Ontario Canada)
I am drinking for the last year the Social Peoples daily with theses setting : 20 grams of coffee, 201 F degrees, around 30 sec for 30 grams. Its a superb shot with lot of flavours. Each coffee have its own receipt. For now, i am drinking Malacara B Lot #7 from Social coffee and love it. I am extending the extraction time a bit to around 35 sec with the same setting from the Peoples Daily.

Do you have the B lot #7 dialed in to yield 30g in 35sec? (I see your recipe for the daily was 30g in 30s) How does it compare to the daily espresso? I am willing to try something new if it comes close to the daily espresso taste/mouth feel.

I am at this time drinking this coffee. Yes, I find it better at 35 sec. Fo around 30 grams. This coffee is much more thick in mouth than the People. I am finding some Malabar Gold note in it. Earthty taste. I find the taste more rustic than Peoples but at the same time, when make properly, really sweet. No bad after taste.
