Has anyone tried any of the coffees from Orleans Coffee Exchange, I looked over their site and they have a ton of different coffees for drip and espresso blends. You can order it whole bean, or what grind you wish and they sell it in 1 lb bags.
I am not a resident of New Orleans -- perhaps someone who is can respond -- but I do travel to New Orleans 1-2 times a year for a week each time. To be honest about it, I have never heard of the Orleans Coffee Exchange, nor do I recall seeing any coffee house promoting the Orleans Coffee Exchange as their supplier (this, despite their claim that "We also provide coffee to the majority of New Orleans coffee houses, as well as to local restaurants and hotels"). I mean, that is distinctly possible -- restaurants and hotels do not always promote the name of their coffee suppler, but . . .
One more thing that causes me to hesitate ordering from them is this:
When will I get my order? Your coffee order will usually arrive about seven to ten days after you place your order.
This is a far cry from getting my coffees 48-72 hours post-roast from places like Redbird, Vivace, Metrolpolis, etc. Nor can I find anywhere about when the coffee is roasted. Most of the roasters frequently mentioned here roast-to-order. No mention of that on the Orleans Coffee Exchange website . . .
Thanks guys, guess I'll delete them out of my bookmarks, so I'll stick with my Red Bird, CCC, Deep Cello. Hey Jason I grew up across the bay from you over in Marin County, left there in 1971 when I went into the service and the last time I was out visiting family was in 1995. If I was EVERY to move back to California it would be up around Mt. Shasta or Susanville. Waiting for my order from Red Bird hope to get it by Friday or Saturday at the latest so until then I'm doing without.

I buy Orelans Coffee Exhange's beans whenever I'm behind on home roasting. A local cafe here in Lafayette, LA brews with their beans and sells 12oz bags. They are always extremely fresh...a few days post roast. Never done mail order since I can pick them up down the street, but I'm fairly confident they wouldn't ship non-fresh beans. They're a fairly small operation actually. Their Mocha Java blend is excellent.
Thanks Evan may have to try them after all since they're only three states away.....lol. Went to Sweet Maria's site to see about their Liquid Amber but it was out of stock
