I was curious about shipping cost and from what I found kind of upset me. I've ordered two bags of Deep Cello coffee from roaste and they charge 10.00. Then I went to Deep Cello's site and for the same amount they charge 3.95, so instead of paying 35.00 I would of payed only 27.95. I know it's only 8.00 differences but with that 8.00 I could of got something else. Guess it pays to look around. Also I going to try their Bossa and High Jump as well.

Gery, you're onto something. $3.95 total for shipping on 2 12-oz. bags through Deep Cello is surprisingly low. I see also that the coffee prices are lower on Deep Cello's site than they are for the same coffees listed on ROASTe. In this case it does seem to pay to buy from the roaster directly, at least for now (unless you have ROASTe Prime, which I do--that covers shipping). Maybe the discrepancy will be fixed soon.

Edit: To be fair, ROASTe's shipping becomes much more competitive ($4.95 IIRC) when you sign up for recurring delivery on your order. They've been pushing this option lately. From what I hear, it's "no obligation," i.e. you can easily cancel the auto-delivery at any time as with Amazon's Subscribe & Save.

Related: did you notice that Deep Cello sells samples for $3, including shipping? I've ordered a few of these in the past and received more than my money's worth. Bossa and High Jump are both worth a try, especially the former.

yea I did see that about the samples, next time I get paid I'll have to order some. But what got me to checking around when I order the same amount from Counter Culture they charge only 5.00 for the same priority mailing through USPS. Sometimes I order the trio pack from Counter Culture and by the time I pay for the coffee, sales tax since I live in NC and shipping I'm looking at 38.00 but this is for three 12 oz bags and they;ve gone up on their prices over the past year. Also it would only be three to four hour round trip drive it's still cheap by the mail

hey jbviau how do you like your Gaggia Classic, I've got the Baby which I've had for over two yrs. when I bought it, it was about 100.00 dollars cheaper then the classic but was told it had the same insides just with a plasstic /abs body. But Im looking at getting either quickmill from chris coffee an HX model.

I do like the Classic, but I'm taking a break from using it lately (new baby at home). Right, it would be a purely lateral move for you AFAIK. I hear good things about the Silvano. Go for it!

Counter Culture is a very good source - one of my absolute favorites - have you ever visited them in Durham?

I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

just ordered a bag of High Jump, Bossa Espresso, and Nostromo sampler from Deep Cello and was a little over $30 including shipping. Else were it would of been closer to $40. So I cut out the middle man but will see how long the shipping cost stays down cause it was only 3.95 which is cheaper then from Counter Culture and way lower then Roaste
