Is it a problem to order beans from a roaster where they'll ship it UPS, and it'll probably spend at least a day or two riding in a hot truck? I would imagine any roaster would have this issue...

Well, we have been shipping beans via UPS for a decade or more.  They ship anywhere from the next town over to the west coast.  (We're in North Carolina)  If the transport environment caused a problem I think we would have run into it by now, but we never have.  Other than local delivery or customer pick-up I can't imagine any other options that would be cost-effective and timely.
I am curious what others think though... has anyone come up with special packaging for this reason?  Has anyone shipped their coffee cross country and back and then cupped it against the same batch, unshipped?
