I've really liked the Liquid Amber, IUsing a TO/SC I roast to about 20-25seconds into second crack. Earlier than that and it's a bit off sometimes. Espresso Monkey has also worked pretty well for me,maybe 10-15s second crack.

In regards to Roman Espresso, if one is to follow the temp instructions, the brew temp is about 16 def F lower than a "standard" brew. Has anyone tried this on a Silvia with a PID? I tried it awhile ago, but didn't have the best luck, but then again, I was scared to drop the temp that low(compared to what I was used to) :)

Ciao Gobstopper,

Re BB's Roman Espresso, I don't have PID, but I used to do reverse temp-surfing to get to that target temp. Actually, I don't think the blend is quite that finicky, which is fortunate, 'cause if you had to steam milk and brew with the same boiler, oy, imagine the wait.

Happy Brewing,
Wayne
