Just went thru my first pound...WOW it is very good!!! Smooth yet strong a medium acidity typical of most good espresso roast minus starbucks. I was brewing around 202. It has tons of excellent crema. I backed off my tamp a hair and it really comes out great. I drink americanos mostly and it has some great nutty characteristics about it. It holds up well in milk drinks also. I was impressed.

My first pound is on order and will be here Monday. After reading all the posts on it I can't wait to try it. I'll follow up on Tuesday after trying it.

I just got my first pound yesterday. Right off the bat I was getting full stop on my PID'd Silvia. Temp is set at 228. I'm still trying to get my grind/tamp dialed in for it, but I think I'm real close. I coarsened up my grind just a bit and eased up on my tamp and pulled a real good shot this morning. I have to echo the WOW comment. I've only been making good espresso for a few months now, but I really like this coffee. It starts off with fruity notes (maybe citrus) and leaves me with a chocolate aftertaste. I'm going to play with my temps to see what other flavors I get, but I want to get my grind/tamp straight. I'm close, I get about 1.5 oz with 14g of coffee. Very nice crema, about 1/2 inch that settled down to 1/4 inch and stayed there. My coffee shipped on the 28th, so that is day 5? I'm going to have to order more, I think I'm gonna go through this pound pretty quick !!!

One nice thing is they are now offering one pound bags of the Black Pearl which they didn't offer before. I had some a while back and it was really good as a straight espresso.

I've actually had a chance to roast some, when I was beta testing the Behmor (also had Redline green) The Black Pearl more than held it's own, and I really enjoy Redline. Chris has a winner here.
Oh...don't try to get this stuff green from Chris...he'll clobber you over the head with his wedge!...LOL
