I basically looking for something new to try with my new machine on the way. The Liquid Amber complexity a really enjoyable coffee blend for espresso. It is also very educational. I cannot seperate all the tastes with call out like a pro but there are a lot of different favor in this blend which I'm sure I tasted. Then the BB Hayes Valley is my long time favoite. I don't know how to describle. I just like it. Also I tend to like more acidity, fruit or flower taste then a bold taste. (I just believe since coffee is from a fruit so it should taste like a fruit or natural fruit like taste.) Also a bit of chocolate won't hurt. So hopefully people can give me some recommendations. Btw I don't like Retrofit from BB and Boss Espresso from Barefoot.

Try Bigfoot from Barefoot. Boss I think is definitely less fruity compared to Bigfoot. Bigfoot has some very delicious fruity aroma, flavor, with a heavy chocolate component too. IMO, everyone should try every Barefoot espresso blend at least a couple times to see if there's one that you like. But it sounds like you are describing something like Bigfoot.
Barefoot Bigfoot: Deep, lush valleys of thick hickory syrup, Rich chocolate heaviness, intensely heavy body that covers your tongue with love. Hints of porcini & cacao mix with tropical fruit. Just the right amount of sweet zing and bright. Our lowest toned, thickest pull yet.

I second what Robert said, try the Bigfoot blend. I was really enjoying the Brazilian Poco Fundo, but they seemed to have run out.
Also get back to Blue Bottle and try the Roman Espresso blend. Heed the warnings in the description, brew it on the cool side. Spicy when young, developing nice cedar, tar, & leather.

Very nice, bigfoot seems like a good match and I like the Roman too cuz I had a shot in the ferry building a while ago. Good I will try both after this two weeks AAU final is dead serious! I am losing it.

You might also like Ecco Caffe's blends. They're up in Sonoma County and do mail-order through their site; in SF, the Mojo Bicycle Cafe on Divisadero also sells Ecco's Traditional N. Italian blend (delivered Thurs. or Fri.) They're not as famous as Blue Bottle, but I was pleasantly surprised -- and the blend is user-friendly (less so for the organic version).

I would second Ecco Caffe. I actually get 1lb delivered of their Ecco Reserve every week. I'm on their super deluxe experimental espresso plan. Well, there's no such thing. I just get 1 lb every week for the entire year and their Experimental Espresso.
But I would say that their Experimental Espresso #2 was the only one with the fruitiness that the SoloC was after. But their Ecco Reserve is more nutty chocolaty sweet and caramel. Their tasting notes are right on. It's not fruity, but the honey, almond, chocolate, caramel is really nice. It's like comfort food for me.

I've really liked the Liquid Amber, Using a TO/SC I roast to about 20-25seconds into second crack. Earlier than that and it's a bit off sometimes. Espresso Monkey has also worked pretty well for me,maybe 10-15s second crack.
In regards to Roman Espresso, if one is to follow the temp instructions, the brew temp is about 16 def F lower than a "standard" brew. Has anyone tried this on a Silvia with a PID? I tried it awhile ago, but didn't have the best luck, but then again, I was scared to drop the temp that low(compared to what I was used to) :)
