Just hit the jackpot with Barrington Gold. a little pricey, but very good blend. In my limited experience, this blend has a rather large margin of satisfaction over the other blends I have tried. I can compare it to about a dozen of blends from other Roasters in the US. So far this blend is my favorite. It was also very easy to dial in. I got a huge amount of Crema and the taste is INCREDIBLE. I am no way an expert, but I know what I like, and this is the reason I have invested my money and time in Espresso. Maybe its just because I went thru the bad experience of buying 2 pounds of stale beans and was too cheap to toss them, so I have been drinking all milk drinks using stale beans for the past week. I liked the way it hung out with my taste buds for quite some time after I finished drinking it. There was barely any bitterness and even the first few shots I poured, which were way under and over extracted were tasty. I ended up dialing in at just under 18 oz dose and a 26 second 2 oz pull. I set the PID at 203 f. I got 2 pounds so I should be all set for a few weeks. I dont even want to make milk drinks with these beans. Maybe Ill make my wifes Caramel Vanilla Lattes with the left over stale beans. I still have almost a pound of them. She may not even notice the difference. Although I made her a flavored latte this AM with the Barrington and she said, that it was the best latte I have made her. Anyways I give Barrington Gold a thumbs up.
