I didn't realize you meant just 18 months ago and so suddenly. That seems a little suspicious. Could all of those cans have come from the same bad lot? Could it have been you that suddenly changed?

In my own case the coffee I'd been drinking was strong, black and bitter. I didn't have a Tuesday morning epiphany. I just got a hand grinder and an Aeropress as gifts, started buying whole beans to put in the grinder and woke up to what coffee could be. I don't miss the coffee I used to brew but I miss the simplicity.

Yeah, a bad confusing day---world blew up in my face. All I wanted was my morning coffee and it was GONE. Stood there stunned, looking at the "Stepford" brewer like it would talk, explain what just happened. I opened my stored cans, smelling coffee then throwing it in the trash. My language turned most colorful. Husband thought I'd lost it WHICH I actually did! LOL  Ran to the grocery, for what I don't know---couldn't open all that just to smell it.

I still question myself BUT that Tue coffee was the same 'good' as it had been---Wednesday's newly opened can was CHEMICAL crap. The 'chemical' one I opened/brewed with was purchased at the same store, same time as 1 other MH in my stash. Had yet 1 more MH and 1 Folgers stored that were bought at different times. Always kept stored cans in a cool dark cabinet, away from heat sources. Kept the opened large can in freezer tightly sealed, smaller can on frig door that got refilled every 8-10 days---did that routine for years.

That was then, this is now. Like you, Jpender, I don't miss that coffee but do miss the simplicity. We all have different preferences. IMPORTANT: drink what you like and how you like it!
