I was wondering if anyone has any great ideas or suggestions on a great way to clean the coffee maker. I have used straight up vinegar in the past, just don't know how effective it truly is. Does anyone have any suggestions??
I normally dissolve 1 oz of citric acid in 4 cups of hot water, then add 4 cups of cold water to the mixture. The effect is ideal, so it is suitable for my coffee maker. While, if you do not mind the smell it left,I think the white vinegar is also great for drip coffee maker
Are you aware that there are commercial cleaners just for drip pots? It is sold in most supermarkets in the coffee section along with filter papers. I think I have seen the Mr Coffee brand most often. Yes Citric acid works well but for a no thought, get it done, buy it any place way to do it, you might look into the commercial solutions.
In real life, my name is Wayne P. Anything I post is personal opinion and is only worth as much as anyone else's personal opinion. YMMV!
