If used is a possibility, you're grinding for drip and you've got the space on your counter, you might hit a few restaurant supply stores that sell used gear and see if something like the Bunn LPG or G1 is available. Excellent grind for drip, will last you the rest of your life at residential rates of use, and can be had in your price range.

Just a thought.

As I am pretty close to you, and should be getting a Lido 2 soon, if you want to come have a look at that, my Virtuoso, and my Pharos that could be arranged. I agree that you should not get a Rocky for your purposes.

Let me know.

With that budget and staying with drip, you can do well. If you want a grinder to ONLY do drip, used Bunn LPG grinders can be had well within your budget. They are designed and built for commercial service for brewing the exact same pot of drip coffee, over and over again, they excel at it.

Check with local restaurant supply stores and used commercial food service companies. I picked up a Bunn LPG (the LPG is the Low Profile Grinder and as such is the most home friendly but still large when compared to HOME grinders) at an auction house, off the floor, not at auction (in other words the every day price) for $125. It still grinds fine but will need burrs in the near future.
