Subject: Baratza encore grinds are off!

So today I went out on the limb and tried grinding some good beans I have, and the setting that looked good to me for drip the previous day (Used some really old crap beans to test) I used and after I checked, the grind was COARSE. Like it was extremely chunky. Not terribly, but much coarser then what you need for french press! Why is my grinder grinding so coarse now? I just did another test with different beans, and even went all the way down to zero with no improvement! No fineness in the grind at all! Can someone explain to me why my grinder is all screwed up?

Fresh beans grind differently than "really old crap beans".

I would quickly do a check to see how the calibration is set. There are a ton of videos on YouTube showing how, but here is a quick one I pulled up.

Well they both grinded that same, anyways I might just get something new. I don't wanna screw around trying to fix it.

Try and reseat the burrs. I had that happen once after I cleaned it and the top burr carrier wasn't sitting properly. All it took was taking the top burr out again, blew it out with some compressed CO2 and put it back together and it worked fine.

Come to find our, the burr set was put in wrong. Red part in front -_- Lol Thanks anyway, but I'm planning to buy a different grinder for ease of use and features.
