If the SCAA recommends 10 grams of coffee per cup and a cup as defined in this case by them is 6 fluid ounces then 10 divided by 6 equals 1.66666667 per oz, then on the reservoir of the Bonavita they say 1 cup equals 5 oz, is it safe to say a full 8 cups is 40 oz.'s and this would equal then 66.66666667 grams or rounded up to 67 grams of ground coffee. Now I realize these are only guidelines and ultimately its always based on taste,Im just wondering. Now the manual says 7 to 9 grams per cup. Which if you take the middle number 8 and multiply by 8 give you 64 grams. What are your thoughts?

64g instead of 67g is 4.4477612% less coffee.
I think these are quite small numbers and it's not going to be a disastrous carafe of coffee if you try it yourself.
I have no idea why you are quoting to 7 or 8 decimal places. A gram here or there when the total volume of water is 40fl oz is a minimal error especially if you are eye balling the volume of water with the markings on your Bonavita since the inaccuracy of measuring your water in this way is another significant error in your calculation.
I'd go for 60g per litre aka 1kg of water plus or minus 5g of coffee either way and you'd be in the ball park. Then of course you have the effect of different grinds to play around with.

It is easy to get caught up in excessive dec places. We see it all the time at work, our computerized measuring devices can print out as many places as you like, we work to 3 places X.XXX but the default print out is 4 X.XXXX while the margin of error is more than 0.002 in most cases so what is the good of going to 4 places when the accuracy is not that good? LOL
My personal feeling is that with brewed coffee and not espresso, a full G is close enough and even then it is fussing excessively. I truly doubt that you would see any difference between 64 or 67.5 g but you may, I can't but you just might and if it does make a difference to you, then do what you need to do to get the taste you like.
Most often I am single brewing in an Aeropress and one heaping scoop of whole beans with the Aeropress scoop tastes good to me. I don't fuss with scales etc with this kind of brewing.
