Hey guys,

We have a Nespresso Gemini CS220 Pro in the office and love it.  Great coffee, easy to use and maintain and chucks out heaps of cuploads all day long.
It has a great cleaning system where you replace the plastic nozzle and straw each day, nice and hygienic, we like it.  Nespresso sell the straws and nozzles together in packs.
However,  seems that some people are using those bendy straws in their milkshakes, juice etc or replace the straw and not the nozzle, and we now have a surplus of nozzles and are seriously lacking straws.
The lovely folks at Nespresso will only sell the straws with the nozzles, they won't just let us buy extra straws.  You would think, just go and buy some straws from the store right?
We have bought a variety of different bendy straws and they are all just the slightest tiniest bit too big in diameter to fit the nozzle.

Question is, where the heck do Nespresso get these bloody straws?  They told us they get them from a supplier in Switzerland and that lots of other customers have asked them the same question, yet they are unable to help us.

Does anyone else have this problem? (albeit first world, but still pretty serious to us)

We're located in Sydney, Australia, maybe we have fatter straws in our stores than the rest of the world, I don't know.
They all seem to be about 0.5cm in diameter but the Nespresso ones are about 1mm smaller.

Doesn't help with our question but instead of leaving the straws and nozzles in a public place, make one or two trust worthy people in charge of them that way people can't snitch them?

The world needs more outstanding coffee.

I could help you set up a vending machine to sell straws at $1.00 each. I suspect that coffee people would buy, keep and reuse "their" straw and it would be too expensive for a milkshake etc. then you would also have a pile of money to buy new straws!

OK, just a joke, I don't have access to a vending machine but the idea is sound.

Are you surtprised they don't want you bypassing them to buy directly from their supplier?  How much money do you think they'd miss out on if nobody bought their marked up straws from them?  I don't see this as any different than any other company doing the same thing...and am not at all surprised by their behavior.  I suspect you're going to have to bite the bullet and buy the combo packs from them...and perhaps look into one of the suggestions you've gotten already.  Maybe you even need to supply your employees with the cheapo straws they sell in your local grocery too.
