I don't know if it's significant.

But suppose that it's true that caffeine content by mass does decrease with darker roasts. How else might this happen?

Which goes right back to my original question of course. :o)

I didn't really expect to get anything more than suppositions, opinions and unsubstantiated numbers. This is a web forum afterall. But I had no idea who might respond and what they would know so I thought it was worth a try. Kind of like panning for gold.

Oh well, maybe next time!
