I have a special way of using French Press to make coffee, and I would suggest you to try it.
Normally to grind the beans not too course, then you put the grounds into the pod and then to pour the water into it. Stir the grounds floating on the surface of the water, to make it well mixed with water, and wait, until you see almost all of the grounds falling down to the bottom of the pod. This is the time to press the filter downwards, and then the coffee is ready to drink.
I do not know whether it is clear or not. I hope so.

Maybe you haven't still found the right blend. The fact is that dark roasted coffee beans do not fit every taste. Maybe you should try some nice, medium roasted blend.
