This may give you some insight into the keys to a good cup, good and bad design features, etc.

Well, let's see . . . as of this writing, there are 72,949 registered members of Coffee Geek. Now Liam doesn't need to buy himself a pound, and out-of-country shipping has got to be expensive, so let's say he calls 'em up and orders 25 tons to go?

On a slightly more serious note, I would like the remind the OP of the old design and engineering maxim that goes, "Fast, Cheap, and Easy - Pick two." Once you add on the "good to great" factor that resident in this particular corner of the internet insist on, it gets even harder. That applies to both the factors of designing, developing, producing, and marketing a product and the necessary research to have a jumping-off point for your initial design. You chose fast and cheap for your research, so it ain't gonna be easy.
