I need some help balancing out this information. While recently pondering a good press pot and scale to add a new form of coffee to the mix, I started to hear warnings about negative health effects of press pot coffee. Specifically, this study is usually referenced:
Lopez-Garcia E, van Dam RM, Li TY, Rodriguez-Artalejo F, Hu FB. The Relationship of Coffee Consumption with Mortality. Ann Intern Med. 2008; 148:904-914. Summary for patients. First, I think I would be one who uses the cupping technique of removing the crust before plunging. So, is this a real concern? Sounds bad. Thanks

Good luck. Only you can make good decisions for yourself.
Just don't get fooled by partial data, or a singular epidemiological studies that have insufficient data, or structured studies that are insufficiently powered.
