I second Verve. Not only are their offerings fantastic, but their customer service is unmatched. Redbird is a nice cheap and good option as well.

Is there a site that shows what places brew what coffee? Living in NYC I feel like I should be able to find a place that serves a lot of these that I can try then buy in person.

Joe Pro on W. 21st, Stumptown on W. 29th, Gorilla in Park Slope - there's lots of great coffee in NYC.

I was at Stumptown today, great staff. Enjoyed the coffee I had there. Believe it was there Guatemala blend.

Was at Joe the other day, coffee was extremely hot, had a cup made with the V60 but didn't enjoy it as much as stumptown.

If I'm using an Aeropress, I can't really make an espresso, so shouldn't I stick to non-espresso beans?

Sorry - I didn't mean to be confusing.  As Calblacksmith pointed out, there's really no official line in the sand between which beans are only appropriate for what purpose. My comment was only to reinforce that Deep Cello had several offerings, and I happened to be particularly fond of one of them for this particular - but not exclusive - purpose.  Good to see so many great recommendations here too.

Sweet Marias, in Oakland, CA.

They sell great beans from the Toraja mountains in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Thanks for the kudoz.   The store went down on Sept 11, database plunge after an "upgrade."    It's back up.

My first "real coffee" was a Sulawesi in Boston in 1986.   WOW.  I thought, it had so much body.

I hear good things about Avion, in Idaho, but I have not tried their coffee.   I've also heard very good things about Klatch Coffee.

While I am partial to the coffees we roast at Deep Cello, there are other, excellent coffees available here as well. One is Water Avenue, another is BadBeards. And don't forget about Spella Caffe, which the Wall Street Journal said made the best latte in Portland (and that's a place with a lot of lattes).
