I called Mr Coffee company to ask when and if they plan on using bpa-free plastic in their coffee makers, and they said they already do. They do not state this on their packaging, though. I asked the representative on the phone why, and she said she didn't know. So are they bpa-free, or not?? Cuisinart is the only company so far besides Keurig, that make their products bpa-free.

If it isn't labeled as such, then assume it is not.

Never assume anything.. just because cause something doesn't state X one should never assume it contains X. If that makes sense.

I'm with iroast. If it doesn't state in writing that it's BPA free then I too would assume it could contain BPA, irrespective of any telephone conversation.

The reason I say not to assume is people could believe all plastics could carry BPA which is not the case..

BPA is found in Polycarbonate plastics are rigid and transparent and used for sippy cups, baby bottles, food storage, and water bottles..

I think the coffee that Mr. Coffee machines produce would be more harmful to the body than any side effects from BPA.

Also in the lining of most cans (unless they specifically state they are BPA free).

"YOUR COFFEE BEANS MAKE MY DAY. I HAVE LOTS OF LIFE TROUBLES AND WHEN I MAKE A COFFEE ON MY SAECO FULLY AUTOMATIC ESPRESSO MACHINE, I KNOW I HAVE BETTER COFFEE THAN EVEN STARBUCKS. ACTUALLY, I DRINK LESS STARBUCKS NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ESPRESSO DECAF. I HAVE IT IN THE EVENING TOO. IT TASTES GREAT."
