A Technivorm is likely to be with you for years and years. If it ever breaks, you'll get spares to repair it.
The Bonavita (original Melitta) is a very good machine which works extremely well. If it breaks, though, don't think it will be fixable. You can't open it without special drivers, so it certainly isn't designed for self-fixing
Unlike many, I own both machines, so think I'm qualified to express an opinion.
Which is go for a Technivorm out of the two.
Know nothing about the Brazen except what has been published on its website and on here, so cannot sensibly comment.
TV has the track record for longevity, but $250 - $300 is a hefty premium. Repairs outside of the warranty period would likely include shipping (unless Boyd's will sent out parts), so who knows if that makes sense several years down the road. Depends on the part that broke I guess. I tend to weigh cup quality high since that is the function of the device - to make good coffee. The clarity, like the pre-production brazen, is not available, and likely never will be again so it isn't worth considering. The idea of ranking only makes sense when other factors are considered - your $100 price cap for example.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

Dare I say it... you do more or less get what you pay for with these brands. The Technivorm is unquestionably a great machine, and has been sitting in the top few spots of "Best Coffee Maker" lists for a while now... Though you do need to part with $250-300 to get one.
The Bonavita certainly seems to be a good machine, and is getting rave reviews, but as I haven't played with it that much, it's a little hard for me to comment on this one.
For my money, I can't go past my Zojirushi. It has been making very decent coffee for us for years, and seems bullet-proof! And for less that $90... hard to beat.
Very keen to check out the Brazen beast... hint, hint Brazen!!!

I've had the Bonavita Thermal for a few weeks now and can say it makes EXCELLENT coffee. Haven't measured the water temp, but the final product in their carafe is piping hot!( I hate lukewarm coffee!)
The thermal carafe keeps coffee as hot as it came out for one hour for sure. I put boiling water in it once to try out the time, and 4 hours later, still too hot to touch.
I replaced my Capresso maker with the Bonavita, and the Bonavita makes better coffee.
I feel it is a solid, no nonsense unit, and does its job. Worth the $150. Shower head works well.
Added one little touch, when I'm not in a rush.....I do a pour-over of a couple of ounces, with a Paico, to start the bloom just before I push the basket/carafe under the shower head and turn on. Makes it even better.
No bells and whistles, though. Just on/off. And.....I like that!!
I like this style too. Are these still available new? Have you ever measured how long it takes to brew a one liter pot from cold start to finish? I have a green one laying around somewhere so I might try measuring brew time if you haven't.
