My late father-in-law swore by Maxwell house instant. He was downright sanctimonious about fresh brewing being an "unnecessary luxury" because it all tastes the same. I thought that stuff tasted like the contents of all the ashtrays in the building were emptied into an inner tube and brewed with the cheapest coffee they could find.
