Maybe a "better" in comparison to robusta beans? Better in comparison to really really old beans? The "better" statement really needs to be defined, I agree.

hello to all from south carolina,and YES i have tried this coffee,my son sent me a 2 pound bag of don pablo signature blend from costco....i have roated my coffees for last 18 years i usually roast every week,with 2 people in the household we drink 4 to 5 pots a day WE LOVE COFFEE!! i have roasted beans from almost all over the world,no fancy crap just good quality beans and will tell you this coffee rivals some of the best on the market,the taste and smell of this coffee is absolutly fabulous,i am not a brazilian fan but the blend in this selection is fantastic,sort of reminds me of KENYA AA or TANZANIAN AAA beleive me it is like drinking candy...big outaboy for Don Pablo,price mabe the only concern but if costco sell this coffee 5 to 6 dollars a pound it is definitly a bargain,and for you posters with smart comments on a product you have not tried just go drink a cup of...................................????

Victor, this probably isn't worth the bandwidth, as you decided to resurrect a nearly two year old thread with your first post, but you seem to have missed the point completely. My point in this ancient thread was to ask Darron some serious questions about what seemed to me to be a self-promotional post.
Two examples: a) reprinting a (then) four-year old review; b) selling coffee 2-3 weeks after roasting.
a) Personally, I think it's appropriate to point out that a review published in 2006 has little direct bearing on what you're doing in 2010. Indirect? Sure, just as a positive, older review might entice one to visit a restaurant, but in the meantime, the chef may have left, anew one come in, and the food is nothing like it was four years ago.
b) Are you familiar with Babbie's Rules of 15's? I don't know about you, but -- honestly -- few people here would buy coffee 2-3 weeks after it's been roasted.
Victor, I'm glad that you like the Don Pablo brand of coffee, glad you found something you enjoy. But as I said previously, Darron's posts sounded (to me, and to others) like purely promotional advertising, rather than contributing to a discussion, and when asked direct questions, Darron unfortunately decided to "take his marbles and go home," rather than participate. Sad, but true.
Now I hope you, too, will stick around and participate. You may learn some things from us, and we will no doubt learn things from you. That is the nature of this little group: we all learn and benefit from one another.
