Subject: Braun "Turbo Nozzle" Problems!

Hi everyone, this sure seems like an awesome resource for coffee info. I already read through a few of the tutorials, they were great!

I'm a high school student and I started drinking cappuccinos a few weeks ago and have now fallen in love with them. I resurrected my dad's old espresso machine, a Braun E400T and cleaned it up. I have been making some shots recently, and having no real experience with any real machines like this, and they have been pretty mediocre.

My greatest difficulty is getting the milk to foam correctly. The machine I am using comes with a nozzle like the one in the picture below, it is not the steam "wand" that I see mostly.

I did notice that it comes off, and then looks very similar to the steam wands elsewhere. Is that the only difference, or am I missing something? I was mostly just wondering if there is a special technique to using this "turbo nozzle," or if it is just another way to "skin the cat."

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the board and to coffee.
To get anything that even resembles espresso you need a grinder.
The froth aider on most home machines is pure junk and nothing good can come from them.
