Mindy, it could have been some type of algae.  I suggest cleaning the tank with bleach on occasion.  Remember to rinse well,  and don't run the bleach through the machine.

hi.  i have the platinum model at home.   i've had my keurig for a year now and LOVE it.  i enjoy the variety of single cups available, and that it includes a filter so that i can still grind some of my favorite beans.

i like the moocow, by the way.....the domain i use, mooman, due to longhorns.   :-)

enjoy.
