if I stick my cup under the brew basket and get the coffee before it goes into the pot , is it stronger that the coffee in the pot? does it all mix in the pot when finished brewing?

This seems sort of obvious as you think about it more.
Water when first hitting dry grounds is going to get exposed to more fresh unwasted grounds as it passes through than water that comes next. Until the grounds are thoroughly wetted, they will release the strongest form of the brew.
As the remaining water flows through already spent grounds, less flavor, lesser strengthed brew comes next.
So, yes it all evens out. The latter drippind dilute the overly-strong brew already in the caraffe.
