Hello,
I am a freelance journalist with Lifescript.com, and I am putting together a piece about coffee, and need to interview a "coffee expert", such as a barista or someone who runs a website about coffee, for the piece. Here's the kicker - due to many unforeseen circumstances (serious family emergency, followed by interview subject dropping out at last second), my deadline is tomorrow, so I would need to get a reply from someone either tonight or tomorrow morning. It's a long shot, but I figured it's worth a try - I have included my interview questions below, and if you are interested, just cut and paste them in an email to bakahentai AT gmail.com. I wouldn't necessarily need all of the questions answered - even if you only have time to write a few sentences, I'll take it! You would be quoted in the piece along with your name and a link to your website, if applicable.
Thank you for reading! -------------------------- This article is aimed at the "coffee novice", who knows very little about coffee, what to buy or how it is made. So let's start with something very basic: What are the pros and cons of different home preparation methods of coffee, such as an automatic coffemaker, french press, and so forth?
Which method of home coffee preparation do you prefer?
How can a consumer select a high-quality roast?
And what is the difference between roasts? "Light Roast" , "Dark Roast" - what are these terms referring to?
What is the process for roasting beans, and how does the roast affect flavour?
Are there any "tricks" to making quality coffee at home?
What is espresso?
How is espresso made?
What is the difference between various espresso based drinks, such as mochas, lattes, and cappuccinos? How are these different espresso drinks traditionally prepared?
Quadshot, grande, half-caff - there is a lot of specific terminology involved with ordering a drink at a coffee shop. Are there a few basic terms a newcomer should familiarize themselves with?
Can an individual make a good espresso at home with the right tools?
Do you have any final thoughts to share on appreciating coffee?
