Subject: milk frothing issues

Up until a few days ago I have had gradually improving results from frothing milk. However, for no reason I can see, I am getting this result now: the milk starts boiling and bubbling before any noticeable froth or bubbles are formed. It starts boiling furiously, splashing everywhere. So I end up with hot milk, but no froth. I suspect it is some nuanced variable like the kind of milk (regular whole) or temp (cold). It's driving me nuts because things were fine a week ago.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago- I feel your pain!

I'm no expert but I do know that things can go off track fairly easily. I think in my case it was 1) milk that was not very fresh and 2) I was gradually over-stretching and NOT keeping the want tip slightly under the milk surface.

Try using unopened fresh milk, don't go overboard on the steam control and keep the tip just under the surface.

Keep at it - you'll get it back.
