Well, there is not much to review on, but I did order the Melitta Clarity and just received it.
I like the looks and it seems to be fairly well made. It looks like a Technivorm knock-off with the mixing spout that goes down into the carafe.
The main thing that I was interested in was temperature. I used a digital temp probe that is +/- 2 degrees F. The method I used was simply holding the tip under the hot stream of water as it came out for about 15 seconds. I understand this is not super accurate, but I did the same thing with my Technivorm KBT741 for reference. The Technivorm varied from 195F-200F, the Melitta varied from 192F-197F. Conclusion? VERY GOOD TEMPERATURE. I think most run-of-the-mill drip coffee makers are usually around 175F-180F, which is just not close enough. Remember, you want get your coffee off the hotplate and into a thermal carafe as soon as possible.
Of course you will want to perform the modification which I have listed below for better dispersion. I have also ordered a promising Presto coffee maker from Costco, and will be posting my first look here soon. I should eventually get a web page up that compares all three a little more in depth, and maybe even add the Melitta and Presto to the consumer reviews. Keep in mind that both of these are under $40, while most Technivorms are around $200.
walmart sells them for 37 + shipping....you could always buy it, try it, don't like it, take it to your local wally world for return..... only be out shipping .... i m pondering it but i have 2 claritys now(I broke the pot on one...so a third soon to replace broken pot)....wife is not to impressed, She's kinda right when she asks me "exactly how many good coffeemachines do you need?!"

Wow! If that Presto is able to deliver correct temperature water, for that price, that is super cool! I just ordered a Clarity from Chef's myself (10% off and free shipping with code WELCOME) for $27 shipped, so I doubt I will need another coffee maker, but the Clarity was on closeout. This Presto has 3 heaters (!) and costs $36 as a regular price. Too bad it doesn't have two heaters and a thermal carafe, but we can't have everything sadly....
