Posted Thu Mar 20, 2014, 5:03pm Subject: Has anyone bought this hario/akira clone beam heater?
Half of what I buy online seems to either be dangerous / junk and I don't want to keep wasting time and money on rubbish so just wondered if anyone had bought one of these clone beam heaters and could give some feedback....
The pictures look ok but it lists the brand as Akira even though it clearly isn't. The price is a lot cheaper than the Akira version although I think that was sort of a commercial grade unit and given the price of most small ceramic and induction hobs it's still quite expensive.
Obviously if the things is dangerous or emits noxious fumes when it heats up then it would be better to pass on it but I've bought things like that were completely fine and sometimes it's actually the stuff from the mainstream manufactures that has been pretty bad, hard to tell what you're getting.
Any feedback from someone who has one would be appreciated.
